Cat5 and circuits

Has anyone ever used the wires from Cat5 cable in their circuits? Does it work?

sure why not

just cut off the connector and use the wires inside.

Be sure that the wire has enough gauge to hold the number of amps you are using. If you are using less than 10 amps then that wire is fine.

Used it a lot of times, for MIDI messages and breadboard wiring. Just not that great for audio signals.

I'm not sure if you are talking about twisted pair FTP or UTP cable...

If yes.... haha it's the best for breadboarding man.... best!!!

But I wouldn't make any boards with it... it's kinda bulky....

yes, and it's also bad for your teeth. i'm talking about UTP 8 wire twisted pair cable :P
