sharp ir 90° rotation
« on: December 19, 2009, 03:11:11 PM »
hi everybody,
I proudly  ;) finished the sharp ir 50$ robot, it works well, it follows me  :)  ..but the servo (that can rotate 180°) just scans 90°, is it  normal? .., I heard to talk about 2 sharp ir for one robot, is it the way to make it scan 180°? does it mean that if I want a robot able to scan all around it, I should install 4 sharp ir to achieve it?
thanx

It should be able to scan 180°, as  only thing keeping it from doing so is the code. I would say that isn't 'normal'.
Also, there are several reasons that two IR's would be used, but to get 180° isn't one of them.

On another note, 3 sensors would be needed to get a full 360°, as two servos will have a 'blind spot' between them.
