Regards,
Søren

A rather fast and fairly heavy robot with quite large wheels needs what? A lot of power?
Please remember...
Engineering is based on numbers - not adjectives

10 tooth gear on the left meshed with a 60 tooth gear on the right, then the gear ratio is 1:6.
1 turn of the 10 tooth gear = 6 turns of the other gear.
But in physics, and science you can't get anything free, so the 60 tooth gears torque has 6 times LESS torque than the 10 tooth gear.

Now if you had a 60 tooth gear on the left, meshed with a 10 gear on the right, then the gear ratio is 6:1!
6 turns of the 10 tooth gear = 1 turn of the 60 tooth gear.
The 60 tooth gear has 6 times as much torque, but 6 times LESS speed.

To sum it up in an easy to remember sentience:
1 turn of the big gear = 1/2 a turn of the little gear.

Hope this helps!
And Admin said "Let there be robots!"
And it was good.

Its the other way around.

Drive 6 turns of the 10 tooth gear equals 1 turn of the 60 tooth gear for a 6:1 speed reduction and torque increase.
