Easy simulation software "3DRad"
« on: February 05, 2010, 08:35:59 PM »
Hi, well I'm back with another one of my crazy projects. I've taken a break from building robots to designing games. But along the way, I couldn't resist whipping up a robot simulation of a holonomic drive system.
Holonomic Car
Features:
  • Ability to rotate the car with the mouse
  • Use the arrow keys to direct the car holonomically
  • The scripts are made compatible for proportional control with gamepads

It was made in 3DRad- or basically, a simplified game development tool using 'ODE' (object dynamics engine)
If anyone wants to try it out, I can upload a compiled version.

The forums here only allow like 300kb so I uploaded it to mediafire.

The project loads really fast, but you will need a decent proccesor and graphics card to get it to run. As far as ram, it should take around 300mb or less. Anyway, hope you guys enjoy!  ;D

:D Oh, ha ha. I'm surprised you noticed that! The gravity is set to real world values, but the wheels are quite massive as well as the main chassis making it a bit top-heavy.
The key to getting accurate simulation in 3DRad is using real world values. -Which this model was based off my imagination. :P
