anything is possible.
anyway, define intelligence. intresting stuff.
take a super computer that uses two parralel processors running at one trillion instructions per second. it is working on a simulation of the large hadron collider. (this is hypothetical)
the comunication between the processors is in machine langauge. it is a langauge, it passes data between two distinct entities. just cause you can't understand latin, doesn't mean its not a langauge. this comunication is at a rate that human beings cannot follow, and has a context that the majority of human beings cannot understand.
the processes carried out by the computer are very complex mathmatical formula that the majority of human beings cannot understand, carried out at speeds that humans cannot match. the fact that these formulas are done in very basic steps is no diffrent to a human carrying out these calculations by hand.
the computer passes the correct simulation for the paramiters and equations it has been given back to the person who asked it to run that simulation. if the simulation is incorect, that is because the scientist used the wrong assumptions. the machine returned the correct result of those assumptions. so the machine makes no errors, all errors are because the mathmatical formula was incorectly converted to the computers mathmatical representation. which was not done by the computer.
so is that super computer intelligent?
