sumo sensor
« on: June 12, 2010, 06:48:21 PM »
hello, im looking for a sensor to keep my mini sumo robot from going out of the ring.  Im looking at this one http://www.trossenrobotics.com/p/phidgets-IR-relfective-sensor-5mm.aspx but i dont know how easy it would be to use with the arduino.  If anybody knows how to use this sensor with the arduino I would appreciate the help.

I want to enter the national robotics challenge mini sumo competition http://www.nationalroboticschallenge.org/.  This it the second robot that ive built.

thanks in advance  ;D

That *Should* work as long as its a regular interface. If its made specifically for phidgets only then it wont work easily.

Apply 5v to the emitter side and detector side and hook pin 3 up to an i/o pin.
