A short video showing my robot scanning over a range of ±45°. Distance data is gathered using a Sharp GP2D12 infra-red analogue distance sensor.

Very similar to my robot here:

It looks like you are only collecting data during one direction, why not collect data both directions and not waste the time?

Thanks for the comment. It's very much experimental, but I will get it to scan in both direction.
