hello I want to use the LM629 to control DC motor for my robot but I know little about the LM629, and I want to know if the LM629 is optimal for the control of motor current continues or there are more efficient components

Well, for starters... wow, is that chip ever pricey
But to really understand the chip look at the datasheet for starters:

Next look at application notes, National Semiconductor has done a nice job of showing ways of using it (well I guess at that price you can expect that
)

Also, check to see if others have used this chip with a Google search as well, I find that the easiest method to find out how to use a chip or a part that I'm unfamiliar with.
