Buy robot arm

Hello, I want to purchase the parts + manual to build a robot very similar to the one in in the link provided below and cant seem to find any kits, any suggestions would be MUCH appreciated.

The robot in that video is most likely not a hobby robot-kit, but an expensive industrial robot. That being said, you might be able to get one second hand, but it will cost you.

yeah i looked up some similar ones on ebay and the cost is about 5-12 k a piece. I could buy one but i really want to build one my self and expand on the software. what i really want is a 5-6 DOF arm kit with a reach of about 3-4 ft and able to be able to handle about 3 kg worth of mass.

I could be wrong, but I have doubts that any hobby arm kit based on servos is going to work for you.  For example if you look at the Lynxmotion arm: http://www.lynxmotion.com/c-130-al5d.aspx

It has a reach of maybe 10.25" and can lift something like 13oz.  You could probably beef it up with more powerful servos and be able to lift more, but then if you add additional reach that will put more strain on the servos...

Hobby robots, as much fun as they are, are no match for a professional, industrial robot. What you need is not a hobby robot. With the 3/4 foot (about 1m) arm all the way extended carrying 3 kg's , you will need something with a torque of at least 3 kgm (300 kgcm). I don't think you'll find a hobby servo's or dynamixel that can take care of that kind of torque.
