My RoboSapien Raspberry Pi Hack, Humaniod Robots on the Cheap

I've seen a lot of hacks with RoboSapien but most of them involve large amounts of sticky tape resulting in a messy finish. Here's some pictures of my modded RoboSapien equipped with a Raspberry Pi (fully detachable and replaceable) and USB Web Cam. I've used adhesive pads and blots to attach the goodies.  Let me know what you think.

Those resistors in the back of his head looks like he is jacked into the Matrix.
I can only imagine the functions that you would do with the Robosapien, with
the Raspberry PI!
The switch near the web-cam, is that to cut the camera off, if necessary?
The question is, what kind of functions do you have planned?
That Robosapien mod is AWESOME!  8)

The web cam switch is just a hardware button for capturing pictures, I could have detached but I left it on. I screwed up the first web cam by trying to resolder a few things...

My plans are to implement some form of navigation get him moving about the place in an intelligent way probably using computer vision something like SimpleCV which I will install on the Pi.

To be honest you are only limited by your imagination, RoboSapien can be used for a whole load of things social Robotics is a big one. I'm still working on attaching a mic for speech etc.

If all goes well I'll probably publish my work and code in some shape or form.

Total cost of the build came under 300 euros for me. You can easily swap the Pi say for an Arduino by pushing it off his back and installing an Arduino mount.

 8) Aewsome idea!
The Raspberry Pi community will definitely buy your book. You could provide the
robosapien project as an open project, so everybody could use your platform.
Maybe even start a Robosapien app for the Raspeberry PI !!!
Your invention could be used as a model for bigger versions, like a beginner platform.
