picaxe control help please!

Hi all robot builders, I am very interested in building my first robot from scratch and was wondering if anyone can help me with picaxe. I have seen the range of products from picaxe and don't which products to use.

I want mu robot to do the following,
have many sensors including ldr's, ultrasonic, line following, infrared, etc, (I will also need help with schematics for these circuits)
Forwards and backwards, left and right
Make random decisions
Flashing lights
Pinhole camera
etc

I have some experience in programming and electronics and soldering and all that just not picaxe.

So if you have any help please please help me and thanks in advance

QRD1114's, they have a infrared LED and photo transistor together in one package.  You need to make a simple circuit and use a microcontroller to read it.  This one already has the parts and is ready to use: http://www.parallax.com/Store/Microcontrollers/BASICStampModules/tabid/134/List/1/ProductID/100/Default.aspx?txtSearch=line+sensor&SortField=ProductName%2cProductName
