First of all, i would like to thank the members of this forum and the website admin for doing such a wonderful job. I learned so much browsing this site. Kudos to you all!
Anyhow, I am currently embarking on a special project that is very dear to my heart. It isn't technically a robot but uses some the basic functionality of one.
I have enclosed two sketches (excuse for blue prints) that i was able to scribble on to a piece of paper, so you guys can have a visual understanding of what i am talking about.
the whole concept behind this project is very simple. I need a small yet powerful and durable sv motor to move 2 connected rollers that are glued to a sheet of plastic. each movement of servo should move the rollers enough so that sheet moves entirely from the front of the device to the back.
I would also need a simple yet durable remote control for this.
here are some of the variables that i can not sacrifice on
1) The size of the device must be very small and neat. size, specifically thickness is of the utmost importance. im hoping to achieve a max thickness of 2.5cm.
2)durability can not be sacrificed, therefore i will be needing the best parts availabe on the market. Waterproofing is an additional factor.
3)I will be commissioning a plastic molding company to old a frame up to the size i need, so im will be open to suggestion to keep the thickness to a minimum.
4)the size of my device& frame would have to be approx 55cm(width)X14cm(height). I will figure out the thickness once i get the size of the battery, rollers and servo.
The help i would appreciate from you guys is helping me deciding( or suggesting) on a motor,RC, design, battery...etc
I would also apreciate if you guys can think of a simpler way to make this device or perhaps a better design than mines.
Regards
