Connecting the iRobot Create to the Gumstix Computer Stack for Wireless Access

Hi,
I am a graduate student working with the iRobot Create but I have to say I don't have a lot of experience with them. I am trying to make the Create wirelessly accessible using a mini-computer called the Gumstix computer stack. The stack consists of a Verdex motherboard, a robostix microcontroller and a wifistick. The next step is interfacing the iRobot Create to the Gumstix and this is where I am stumped. As I mentioned before, I don't have too much experience with this and any kind of help will be useful to me. Has anyone done this in the past? Does anyone know how I could go about doing this? Please let me know.

Here is a sample program that turns the Power LED to red/full-intensity on the iRobot from the gumstix connex.
