I know this isn't robots, but Honda is leasing a new hydrogen car this summer for $600 a month (mind you no gas costs)

I saw this picture of the in home fueling station that is coming soon and I saw asimo that honda threw in there. thought i'd share.

Notice that while everyone in that household is doing some type of work, Asimo is wandering off to the couch to watch some TV...

instead, higher electricity bills :P

(ok so its probably cheaper, but coal plants are more polluting than gasoline!)

Admin's an advocate for gasoline powered cars  ;) I see his opinion on this thread, and on other threads about its efficiency.

nuclear power cars are the way to go

I've been trying to build one, and I am really close.  Just waiting on the core to arrive, should be any day now because they told me I was going on a Federal Watch List and that was a few years ago.  I would find it hard to believe they have a waiting list of more than two years, no matter what they call the list.   ::)

Hydrogen........ well, that means no emissions...

But I think that many of you heard about the water car...
It's not that extreme if you imagine...
First you electrolyze the water so hydrogen and 02 is produced...
Then... get that in the engine... And I'm talking about a simple standard inner combustion engine...

You need a little bit of imagination to do that but... never mind...

I'm gonna study physics in university so maybe I'm the third to produce a water engine :P :P :P :P :P
For whom the interrupts toll...

Or, check this external combustion engine out

Steam power is back, baby!!

Well, what a lot of these companies 'forget' to tell you is that hydrogen requires electricity to be produced and stored. That electricity mostly comes from coal fire plants - which is where the emissions come from.

Of course the car is 'zero emission' . . . but in the grand scheme, some studies have suggested the hydrogen method actually results in *more* green house gasses being produced . . .

The same goes for battery powered cars . . . 'zero emission', but the electricity comes from highly polluting coal fire plants . . .

No one knows which is best in terms of minimal polution, but by pure efficiency calculations, gasoline wins by a long shot.

Now if coal plants was replaced by nuclear reactors, then maybe I'll change my mind on emisions :P

Nuke plants are the way to go. We could even build them on the Canadian and Mexican boarders so if we do screw up and they go boom we only have to clean up half the mess :)
