Need a LOT of batteries at best price
« on: June 27, 2008, 04:04:08 PM »
Hey guys
I'm building an electric motorcycle this summer and I will be needing to buy A TON of batteries for it, my options so far seem to be:
SLA 72V @ 100Ah which will be several hundred pounds and cost about $600
NiMH 72V @ 50Ah which will be close to 100 pounds and about $1200
LiFePo4 72V @ 40 Ah which will be around 80 pounds and about $3000

those are the numbers I seem to be getting now, does anyone have any suggestions as to where I should buy a large amount of batteries and also if you have a better option that you would like to share I would greatly appreciate any input on the matter.
Hell, there are no rules here—we're
   trying to accomplish something.

If you are buying in bulk (typically $500+), just call up the manufacturer.
