Finding Wheels

Hi everyone,

I am looking for the parts to build the 50 dollars robot, but I am having a hard time finding wheels that could fit with what I want to do.

I want wheels with an approximate diameter of 5'' to 6'' inches, but I cannot find any that matches these sizes on the suggested websites in the part list.

Does anyone know a place I could find some?

I live in Canada, so the closer the better!

I made wheels by gluing 4-5 CDs together for each wheel.  Then, just drill pilot holes for mounting the wheel horn for the servo onto the wheels.  Worked great.  Oh, I also wrapped a rubber band around the outside of the wheel for traction.

pololu.com has some nice wheels. their hq is in las vegas, iirc

Can't find wheels with 5 to 6 inches diameter on Pololu is it possible?

Any other suggestion?

The only wheels Pololu has in this size range come as part of Tamiya 72102 Gear Head Motor + Pin Spike Tire Set.  The tires have a diameter of around 5.1 inches, but unfortunately they are not sold separately so you would have to buy the motors along with them.  These are high-power, high quality motors, which means they aren't cheap.

but i recommend using home stuff to build the wheels like CD's, cardboard, anything circular, because these are 13$ and 17$, plus shipping which makes it over 20$... would you pay that just for wheels?

The model type store near where I live chareges the equivalent of $50 for their cheapest set of wheels, so $20 doesnt seem all that bad considereing. And no ive never bought anything from the ridiculously overpriced local hobby shop (just because theres no competition they see it as an invitation to commit legalised robbery)
