Please look at this schmatic
« on: November 07, 2008, 06:27:29 PM »
Hi, I just built the board for the $50 robot and it worked, my first ever electronics project so i was suprised!. I figured why not try and use a diffrent chip with more memory and I/O so i got a atmega644. The pins are diffrent so i looked at the data sheet and made my own drawing of what i think the circuit should look like and also added in a rs232 shifter. Can someone take a look and see if i have the right idea? The circles are where wires attach to each other and the components. It's not the best drawing but again im new here.

Looks like all your IO pins are connected to the regulated 5v supply. If you want to drive current hungry devices like motors/servos then they should have a seperate power supply.

Thanx, that shouldnt be too hard. It's just a second battery and the + goes to one set of ports instead of the 5v and the ground is shared right? did everything else look ok?

Attached are two images of my 644 board (and actually my first Axon prototype). I lost my schematic, sorry!

Hopefully these should help you a bit.
