So I've only told a handful of people, but I am currently buying parts to build the Phoenix Hexapod from Lynxmotion (I'm buying my servos elsewhere and using different electronics). The original plan was to build in a bluetooth connection (easy) to have the processing for gait movement done on a computer with python (hard - but easier than if in C on a micro controller).
A friend who's also into robotics stumbled upon this recently:

This will save me untold amounts of time. Does anyone have any experience or word on mouth of this chip?
It's an awful lot of money to trust in someone else's calculations.
