Is there a difference between PIC and Picaxe?
« on: November 27, 2008, 02:14:32 PM »
Are they two different companies? And two completely different brands? I remember someone telling me they both branched from Harvard University?'

I know Picaxe uses BASIC
and PIC uses C though?

The 'Axe uses a PIC-µcontroller.
PIC µcontrollers (made by Microchip) can be programmed in several languages, but they all compile to machine code, which is the only "language" that the PIC understands.

The PIC, like some other controllers and processors use Harvard architecture, but they didn't "branch from Harvard Uni".

A rather fast and fairly heavy robot with quite large wheels needs what? A lot of power?
