Servo - need help
« on: December 07, 2008, 04:18:48 AM »
I’m a totally beginner in robotics , so be patient  :) .I want to do the 50$  Robot.
I  have the  Hitec HS-311 , and I want to modify it . But I don’t understand how do I have to use the microcontroller … (I’m at Step 2 – Mechanics   … and I don’t know  how to connect the microcontroller with the servo , and what to do with that program : .hex file)

If somebody else asked this  before me … please give me that link ….( if not , any suggestion/guidance is welcomed :D )
Thank you for your time ,

                                       Bazuca.

Hi Bazuca,

I think what you're looking for is in step 3.  Step 3B also has a diagram for wiring connections.

Is that what you are looking for?

I didn't understand  what to do with the uC    at the step : "modify your servo" ... I have to make the electronic circuit  and then to command the servo  at position zero?    (because otherwise I don't see how can I upload  ".hex file" to the uC , and how uC sends signals to servo ??? )   ... I thought  "modify your servo" it's all about mechanics :P , but I understand that i have to do a bit of electon. and programming  ...

modifying the servos should actually be the last step...go straight to the electronics section, and build your MCU and load up the modify servo hex.

Theeeen you can go to the modify servo step in the tutorial
