F.I.R.S.T 2009 Ideas?
« on: January 05, 2009, 03:18:39 PM »
Now that the FIRST 2009 season has begun, we are looking for ideas. The scenario is an extremely low friction surface, with very low traction wheels. The object of the game is to toss balls into the opponents trailer which has an opening for these balls, you may block them in any way, watch the video!

So, any ideas for our team? ^_^

im not able to watch the video but from what it sounds like you drop the balls in the container from the top? i would make a raise and lift arm to pick the ball up and when you get to thecontaioner some way hit it on it so it will fall in...
it depends on the amount of funds that you have backing you...
Also i think i would use tracks and if you had enough room maybe make htem double wide on each side to try and get all the traction as possible...
Good Luck!
My last year was last year are the balls the same?
my english teacher once said, "dont talk about what you dont know in public...."

so I replied the truth, " Exactly why I dont ever talk about English."

We made a robot this year that picks up the balls and then delivers them to the human players to throw them into the opposing teams trailers. You cant use an arm or other device that will go past the bumpers. The rule states that nothing can go past the vertical projection of the bumpers. You cant use track either because you have to use the provided wheels. Attached is a picture of this years robot for MMRambotics 2200 from Burlington Ontario Canada. MMRambotics.ca
