Ping))) and Axon
« on: February 15, 2009, 02:31:42 AM »
I got another question.  Ill run out soon.  I am almost out of sensors :P

Looking through the code it looks like you are supposed to plug the Ping))) into the A3 position but, I thought it was always a good idea to plug a sensor like the Ping))) which uses 5v into the 5v regulated bus?

Or do I have to pull the power off the 5v bus but plug the singal into the A3 socket because its digital?

Thanks
J

I do not own an Axon (yet) but I originally wrote that code for the $50 robot board, and I just plugged it into an ADC pin.

Did you have any problems using port A3?

You should use regulated 5V for the Ping))). You can still use pin A3 for I/O, but power should be taken from the ADC power bus line (the 5V regulated line).
