servo working range
« on: March 18, 2009, 09:01:26 PM »
Hi.

I am using HS85bb micro servo.

I remember I saw somewhere 'All Hitec servos rotate clockwsie', and this statement confuse me, does it mean the servos can rotate anti-clockwise? Then how does it get back to previous position?

And, in the specs of the micro servo, it mentions "operation range: 40 degree per one sides". So the max rotation range is 40 degree ( because it can rotate only clockwise but not anti-clockwise)?

Thanks in advance.

yes, all servos can rotate both ways, think about this for a second. if a servo normally could only rotate 180o once it got to that position you would be screwed! ;D
Howdy

Yes, I really can't imagine if a servo can only rotate in one direction. But.. check here:

http://www.hitecrcd.com/Manuals/Servo/HFP-10.pdf

It stated "All Hitec servos turn in a clockwise direction". ???

it says right under it:

3. Rotation:
Select the servos rotation from either clockwise or counterclockwise.
a. To adjust this feature push the input button and the programmer
will search for the settings; ccw or cw will appear.
b. Press DN/R to set the servo to cw (clockwise)
c. Press UP/L to set the servo to ccw (counter clockwise)
d. Press input to exit

:D

they have to rotate both ways, probably just a typo,or someone mada a mistake..it happens

Hi,

I assume you should read it like:
"All Hitec servos turn in a Clockwise direction ( CW ) with wider pulses"
I.e. turning to the right when the pulse is above 1.5 ms and v.v.
