Mounting Arduino
« on: May 16, 2009, 08:05:26 PM »
Hi, I have a simple question - will mounting my arduino with metal screws not create the risk of a short on the board?  do I need to use plastic washers?

Well it shouldn't cause any problem, but it doesn't hurt to be safe in case of freak accidents. So if possible use plastic washers, or better yet plastic stand-offs.

if you can get nylon standoffs they work the same as metal ones...
you should be able to use metal ones as long as they're touching any traces...

Don't you mean "as long as they're not touching any traces"?
Think outside the box... inside is to crowded.
