just a thought but,
what about if you let all people working on oscar join and promote those working on modules
to moderator so they can update pages with new info?

Guys, you should know that Aselith is working on a webpage for OSCAR. I think he is in surgery for now, but soon he'll be back to this project. If you guys have a little patience, you should let him continue his work since he is all 100% into this project since the begining.

Thanks.

Still working on the sourceforge setup. Its probably going to go public next week some time. Still recovering from surgery but sourceforge is the best place for this kind of thing to live. I'll probably do a lot of work on it this weekend as I am bored out of my mind and not able to move much. However I still can't sit at my computer for extended periods of time yet.

OK, i just thought that noobs might not be as proficient at navigating sourceforges as you may be so its like a sort of front cover with the sourceforge page behind it

Thats what the member tutorials and sor are for. Each module will have a member tutorial here. Sourceforge is just to hold the files and organize the contributors. That way we can keep version numbers and organize multiple people coding different modules

Have you ever looked at Sourceforge or open source projects?

No offense Spykid99, but did you consult the community before opening your website?
Maybe I missed it; but I find it rather strange to open a website for this project without asking us.

Now about the website itself:
- Why host it on a random server (with ad banners  :-\ ) while there is a web space offered for each project on SourceForge ?
- It does offer more services compared to SoR + SourceForge, so what's the point ?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but for now the only thing we have for OSCAR are:
- Spec for the module, there is a tutorial for that on SoR.
- A few modules ideas. Owners should post a tutorial in the member section.

In my opinion SoR is enough for the time being. There is no source code yet, so we don't really need a file hosting serving.
When the project really kicks off (i.e. a few modules working) we can start thinking about infrastructure, etc.

A first step could be to use the wiki on SourceForge.

Please, don't add more noise...

Chelmi.
