working with the 25:1 geared motors

Okay, now building a tiny photovore and I'm planning on using the GM15 25:1 Geared Motors(6mm) from solarbotics..Here's the link.

Now my question is that are these motors exactly the same as the normal pager motors ? Can I just plug them on to my L293D motor driver outputs and they'll work, or do I have to hack them in any way for 360 degree rotation?

I'd say your fine just hooking them up to the motor driver. All pager motors do 360 rotation, they just normally have a weight on the shaft to create the vibration.

oh great ...then i'll order the motors right away.
and i've got another doubt..im using the ATTINY2313...and im programming it serially just like the 50$ tutorial.. now is it possible to load the same program given by the Admin(with a few changes of the chip,of course)? or would i have to change the program drastically?
also, the 50$ tutorial uses servos and im using pagers. will the program differ there?also, any good photovore programs for the tiny2313 out there?

also, in all the tiny2313 projects that i've had a look at, the AVR ISP cable is of 6 pins! however such a 6-pin connector cable is not available in my city! we've got the 10 pin cable here(like the one shown in the 50$ tutorial!) what do i do??

all the to pin connector is, is a 6 pin connector with a few more grounds and a nc pin.
the 6 pin and 10 pin connectors are interchangeable. just connect the right pins to your mcu ie. miso to miso, mosi to mosi....

thanks smash! i just wntd that answer!
see, i'd joined a workshop on the atmega 8535, and the prof teaching us said that for serial programming , a max232 is a must but for parallel programming it isnt required.
but in the 50$ bot, he has nt used the 232 ...he's just given miso,mosi ,sck, and vcc and gnd to the isp cable and taken the cable to the serial port. so 1)what is the concept behind not using 232 in this case?

bcoz im just following the 50$ bot blindly,(using the tiny2313 though) in my circuit i have done the same thing and now im getting totally confused about what type of programming im doing!!
2) my cable has to be 10pin to serial port cable right????

1 i cant really answer that one :-\ as i have no idea about the max232, ive never used it...
2 10 pin serial or parallel programmers will both be fine.

Hi! the 25:1 geared motors will have to be imported from solarbotics US ...instead...a person selling motors suggested these motors...

they're approximately the same size and coreless and have much higher RPM..also , they're way cheaper. only ...i dunno whether coreless motors are able to handle good torque? and whether they're light in weight?

those motors will be very high rpm.  you will have to make your own gear box to use them.  I would still go with the solar robotics ones , that is just my opinion.
