Small sized material and I am willing to modify, if I can do it for cheap.

I don't have the link here and don't have access to instructibles but I saw one for a cnc machine made from pipe fittings and I think plexiglass. Was cheap to put together the expensive part was the motors and the controllers but it might have been under $300. Used a dremel I think.

i have seen one where some one bought a $650 light microscope that had 3 axis of movment and replaced the lenses with a dremel and when he came up with the cash a proper cnc motor.

I cant find the link but it looked brilliant and seemed to work quite well, and i think was really smart as you could cut to the nearest mm

but it was really a mill but in the end he added some expensive servos and made it computer controlled. I think it would have been better to go out and buy a proper cnc but it looked really cool.

in my opinion, i dont think you could build a proper cnc mill, you would lose the precision and while it would be able to do the milling on its own, your parts wouldn't be very accurate, i could be wrong though -shrug-

exactly, i feel like robotcoder wants to use it to make good parts, if thats the case, building your own wouldn't be an acceptable solution in this case
