self leveling table

Hello, i wanna make a self leveling table controlled by a pic and two servo motors one for the x-axis and the second for y-axis,to ensure that the table must be horizantal i bought an analogue accelerometer ,, so that how can i get a code to drive this system,, i doesn't matter in which language the programming will be, all i need to program the pic to drive the system,,
Help me please. ;D

Must it be a PIC microcontroller?
Can it be AVR?

i doesn't matter what to use for control,,so i can use AVR but you have to tell me how to use it since i didn't have any idea for this.

you can check out this board http://www.societyofrobots.com/step_by_step_robot.shtml
it can handle this task and the code would be pretty easy.
read the sensor, adjust the servo in the right direction until the accelerometer meets the right value.
if you just need the table horizontal why not use legs? :P
