$50 robot mcu question

I cannot get the atmega168-20pu as it is out of stock but I was wondering if the atmega168p-20pu would work instead.  the only difference as far as I can tell is the interface.   thanks

Yes it should work, the p is just for picoPower technology (which is better than the standard)
