reuse???

i looked through out the forum and couldn't find one with this question so think its OK?
don't gimme cr@p if i cant put this topic up I'm sorry in advance
OK so obviously I'm a noob and was wondering
I'm messing around with an old VHS player
i took out a piece that i need and its in pretty good condition
any chance its possible to reuse it
or are most electrical components non recyclable :P
some one please help me

use at your own will?
man im having a hell ofa time finding the damn servo's
i cant order them i got nothing and no stores
what peice of junk should i look for that might have one?

Alot of children toys have servos/dc motors in it. If your looking specifically for servo you are going to have a tougher time doing so...

no im in oshawa all the hobby stores moved up north and i got no way up there
and as long as the servo works on the 50$ robot i could care less what type it is right now

ok stupid question but...
Im gunna go to the book store to find knowldge (not chicks for once haha:P)
now I dont wanna go in there and be like
"hey I'm looking for a book on micro controllers"
 and the guy just stares right through me like im some kinda dumb@$$
so what terminologies should I use to find what I'm looking for to reduce confusion?
